Reflection for PSA on Domestic violence
This assessment was very interesting and shocking. Before this assessment, I didn't realize how much work went into making a PSA but I have definitely understood the work that producers put into making an impactful PSA. Let's start with talking about my group. My group was pretty good I had my friend Heidi with me which was good to have and the boys were handy but at times could be distracting but in the end, they participated and did their job well. Samim did a beautiful job in editing and it elevated the video a lot. Adam and Nazih although distracting did their scene very nicely since they did it fast and they got it right on there the second try and the emotion showed and it seemed real. Heidi was good in terms of giving ideas and controlling the group but I think that in her acting she could have shown more emotion. Coming to me I managed to do my scenes but I was laughing a lot in the middle which I should have taken this more seriously and my stage combat could have looked more real. In the beginning, my team really struggled with coming up with impactful idea and message and with the help of our lovely teacher we were finally able to formulate a storyline. For next time I would manage out time better since we were still trying to come up with an idea 1-2 weeks in when all groups were halfway through filming. It was rushed and we were trying to get editing done on the last day so next time we could spread the work in a course of a week and be more efficient and produce better work. Now to talk about my favorite PSA it was a group who had Karim, Maanya, Samira, Armaan, and Khanda. There PSA was so impactful and had a very innovative message. Karim's editing was amazing and it made the PSA look so real. The best part about their PSA was the little details that they put in their PSA like the handprint of Manaya's face, Karim's knuckles being red etc. I think that Maanya's makeup was done beautifully and it really showed that she got very very abused. One thing I would have changed is that Samira and Khanda should have been in more scenes because I feel like they played a very little role. Overall, I think that this assessment really opened my eyes to this huge issue and I have not realized the importance of PSA's on Domestic Violence.
PSA for Domestic Violence
Pre-planning for PSA for Domestic violence
We started off by having three ideas. The first idea was to show a PSA about a women hiding her scars. The second idea was to show someone who was abused who helps another abused person because they know how it feels and to show another person who is not abused and he/ she doesn't help because they don't know how it feels. The third idea was to show that was that everyone says boys don't cry but they should say that don't cry but don't make any other women cry either. We decided to go with the second idea but it was too complicated so with the assistance of our teacher we were able to come up with a brand new idea. Our idea is that there will be a lady getting abused and she tells her friend that she is getting abused and her friend says stand up for yourself but she can't because she is too scared but one day her son complains to her that he is getting bullied at school so the lady tells her son to stand up for himself against this bully but she is telling her son to stand up for himself but she herself is not standing up for herself. This is going to be the plot of the PSA. I will be playing the lady who is getting abused. Samim will be my husband and he will be the one abusing me. Nazih is going to be my song and he will be the one getting bullied. Heidi will be playing my best friend who I tell about my husband abusing me. Adam H will be playing the bully that will be bullying Nazih at school. For this PSA we will all be wearing casual home clothes and Nazih and Adam will be wearing their uniform since they are in school. I will be wearing a casual black dress. Samim will be wearing a white shirt with a blazer. Heidi will be wearing a simple top with jeans. Nazih will be wearing his uniform. Adam will be wearing his uniform and then a simple black shirt with grey joggers. We will also be making a black eye on Nazih's face using makeup to show how badly he got bullied. The video will first start off with scenery and it will depict our production name which is The Tumeric Productions. Then we will write the name and message of this PSA which is Stand up for yourself. Then it will be a scene of me talking to Heidi about my husband abusing me. Then we will show a scene of Samim abusing me but it will be black and white in order to show that it is a flashback to me and Heidi's conversation. Then Heidi will tell me to Stand up for myself but I can't do that because I am afraid. Then there will be Nazih getting bullied, Adam. Then there will be a scene of Nazih telling me he is getting bullied and I will say stand up for yourself but I am not doing what I am telling my child to do. That is the end of our scenes. There will be a simple message and then a shocking statistic of how many women get abused every year. We will say a message but we will break it up into 5 parts and we each will say a part of the message and then we end with the message and slogan of our whole PSA which is Stand up for Yourself.

What happened? Scene
Our scene takes place at the boss's head office which is in downtown Chicago in the USA. The building is called Aon Centre which is a technology company. Jonathan is the main character of our story. He works as a marketing employee in Aon. He is at a pretty low rank. He is a simple man who loves his family a lot and family always comes first for him. He has a wife who is pregnant with their second child and their first child is a 1-year-old girl. This job makes a sufficient amount for them to live on but they often have to live cheque to cheque. This was the only job he was able to find so it is very important for him and it is the only source of income for his entire family. The other character in our story is Alan who is Jonathan's boss and the CEO of Aon. He is very rich and he is very snobby and selfish. He only cares about his company making money and profit. He doesn't care about his employees at all they are worthless to him it's just all about the business. He is very bossy and he is a strongly opinionated person and he wants everything his way. Jonathan has one person who is not his family that he really loves and trusts and that his best friend Samuel. They know each other since they were in middle school. He is at a higher rank that Johnathan so he earns more than him but that doesn't affect their relationship. He is always there for Johnathan and he is very calm, caring and composed. The next character is Aileen and she is the boss' secretary. She is always bossed around by her boss. She is very scared of him so she does what her boss tells her without saying anything. She is a sweet lady but she is fragile and emotionally sensitive. The last but definitely not least is a character named June. She is short-tempered and she supports her boss even tho he is wrong because she doesn't want to risk losing her job. Our story starts when Johnathan starts skipping many days of work because he has to take care of his pregnant wife and 1-year-old daughter. The boss calls Johnathan to his room. The boss tells Johnathan if he doesn't come more often he will get fired. He tells Aileen to get the paperwork ready. He tells him that if he doesn't come all days of the next week he will submit the paperwork and get him fired. Johnthan starts arguing with Alan. Alan is trying to reason properly with Johnathan but he is getting really mad and his screaming very loudly at the boss. June hears all these sounds and come in and starts shouting at Johnathan for talking to the boss like this and she, of course, agrees with Alan. Alan is still trying to be calm, cool and collected. Aileen is trying to stop them but she is ignored. Samuel comes in taking Johnathan's side. Soon Alan and Johnathan are leaning over the desk staring right at each other. The boss at this point become very angry and he flips over the table. The fight gets physical and soon papers are being thrown at each other and things are falling and being toppled over. Aileen is stressed and doesn't know what to do while Samuel and June are trying to break them up. Aileen calls the police. They come and take Johnathan and Alan away for questioning. The end of the scene.

Karim is the victim of the fight with his neighbor Bhavya who is an old man who is psychotic. Karim is a simple man. He is one of three brothers who are all triplets. He is the youngest triplet. He is nice and caring but when someone starts messing with him or makes him angry he gets very frustrated and mad like he did when he got into a fight with Bhavya.
Adam I is Karim's triplet brother. He is the middle tripet. He is the fun one of the brothers but he often gets into trouble. He is more careless and free spirited and that is one of the reasons he is not the most reliable person when it comes to a serious fight.
Samim is Karim's other triplet brother. He is the oldest out of all three of them. He is the most responisble from the the three of them. He is the go to sibling for advice on anything and if you are stuck in any governement or legal issue and he is also the most reliable person for this conflict with his neighbour.
Nazih is Karim's other Neighbour. He has been living next to Karim for almost 3 years now. He is a pretty old man so he is grumpy a lot of the times. He sits outside every morning and he always likes to know what his neighbours are up to so that is how he heard the caos at Karim's house and came over to see if he has to fight someone.
I am Karim's family cook. Although I am not part of there family Karim has always treated me so nicely which makes me feel like I am part of there family. Karim and I share many common interests so after working for him and his family for 5 years I feel like we have become good friends. I feel like a little bit of good food can fix everything and some tasty food might also be able to fix a neighbour conflict and so I like to cook to fix serious dilemmmas.
Erin is Karim's lawyer. He calls her for legal issues like this conflict. He gets very frustrated while conflicts and fights so Erin has to constantly calm him down and make sure he is making wise descions. She is very to the point and she doesn't like to beat around the bush. She is a very frank person. This conflict is nothing for her because she has dealt with much bigger conflicts and problems.
Khanda is Karim's maid. Karim has a very big house and he needs assistance keeping it clean and tidy. She was rich and famous but then one bad move ended her career and she was left with no money. This incident happened 2 years and so then she started to come and clean Karim's house to earn some money. She doesn't like conflict and fights and she constanty tries to find ways to end them so that is why she came into the garden offering to clean the it so that the fight could end.
Maanya is Karim's grandmother. She knowns Karim and her brothers since they were born. She has watched them grow. She never tells this to anyone but Karim is secretly her favourite. She knows he is a young man who is able to handle himself but she always treats him like he is still a child so when she sees Karim in trouble she starts protecting her grandchild.
Adam. H is Karim's cousin and he is also the twin brother of Yahya. He loves Karim a lot and they both are very close. He works with his brother being a detective. So, he is always helping Karim out with cases because he is always able to find evidence to prove them guilty. He cares a lot about Karim and he always helps him with everything he does. He never fails to get Karim out a difficult situation that he is struggling to get out of.
Yahya is Karim's cousin and he is also the twin brother of Yahya. He works with his brother again being a dective. He is very similair to his brother since he and his twin are very close and they have a very strong bond and it is very hard for him to live wihtout his brother. He is not as close to Karim as his twin brother is but he also loves Karim dearly and he and his brother work together to help Karim with every issue and problem that he has.

Thought-Tracking
Today was eviction day in the little sister house. I was very concerned in the beginning that I was going to get voted off and that my mine one chance of winning this money would be gone but when the voting began and we were about 3 votes in all my worries went away and I knew I was safe. I am really happy about the fact that no one voted for me to leave so it makes me feel confident that one by one I will get them all out and I will win this just shows that everyone likes me and that I am friends with all of them and so when I turn on them in the end to win all the money they won't even see it coming but you never know what surprises you get in the little sister house so I still have to careful. Dan who is played by Azaan was voted out today and I am really happy because my vote went to him and I was really hoping for him to leave the house. I feel like Dan was crushing on me and I was happy about it but then I found out that he is engaged and I am so angry at him he was clearly flirting with me when he had a fiance this whole time. His fake Aussie-British accent whatever it is I don't really understand what it is and it really annoys me so much. In the house, we have formed two mini groups and you either part of that group or our group you cannot be in between which exactly what Dan was doing he wasn't choosing any group he was just floating in between because of all these reasons it was time for him to go and I am glad he is gone.
Marking the moment
Reflection- The picture probably looks really random so let me explain the story a little bit. My character Diana Ross is a bartender and so she steals all the sodas out of the fridge to make her mixers. Dan who is played by Azzan generally has a lot of junk food all day so he is blamed for stealing the sodas then Chantelle played by Khanda sits on the couch next to me and she notices a bump in the couch and she finds out that those were the sodas then she sees my name on them and everyone is completely shocked because hey find out I have been the culprit the whole time. This scene is after Chantelle (Khanda) finds out the sodas under the couch. I stand up and try and snatch the soda away from Khanda (Chantelle). The scene that is shown in the picture at that moment Chantelle and I had a complete girl on girl battle. Everyone is trying to stop me and they are really shocked that is me because everybody was convinced that it was Azzan (Dan). After this scene, I tried to defend myself because I really needed the sodas if I wanted to keep my job but everyone was angry at me and they would listen to any excuses. We decided to choose this as our mark the moment because we felt that this was the turning point of the act because the audience an all characters thought it was Azaan (Dan) then when Dan neglected it everybody was confused at that point who it could be and then they found out it was me the whole time and we think that at that point the audience was completely shocked then when we started fighting it was really scary and we thought that the fight is something that the audience will remember and when you look at this picture it raises a lot of questions and it is a mystery about why the fight is happening so if you just saw this picture and didn't see the play then you would be curious about what is going to happen and then while you are watching play this picture will be in your head the whole time and then as you are talking you will be able to make the connection to the picture. I think in my scene Khanda who plays Chantelle did pretty well because she is the character who solved the mystery and her dialogues very well-spoken and it was true to her character. However, I think we can all work on expressing our feelings through are expressions a little bit more. I don't think we built the tension enough. People very mad at the beginning when they were frantically trying to search for the drink but the actual culprit which was me was revealed very quickly and we weren't angry or curious enough to be able to built tension and if we built the tension more we could have had the audience more interested in the scene and we could have kept them captive for longer. I think that the group that had Arman who plays Bucky did a pretty well at building tension and they were also blaming another person for something he didn't do and it kept me interested for a good amount of time. I think that the group with Samira did well because in their Yousief was the victim although some of them didn't talk much Yousief and Maanya will able to convey their feelings through their expressions pretty well.

Group Activity-
Make a perfect circleMake an ugly face
Stand from oldest to youngest
Spell out a word
Hide a person from your group
Make the Eiffel tower
Do the conga dance around another group
Make a bridge and have someone walk under it
The challenge was very fun. I collaborated with different people who I don't usually collaborate with and that was a new experience for me and I realized that it is good to be more open minded and work with everyone and not just the same people all the time. I think the best thing about our group was that our communication was really well which made everything easier. I think we collaborated well because we were first which proves that we communicated well which led to fast decision making. In our group, everybody was open to listening to each other ideas. In our group, it wasn't like one person was telling us what to do everybody was participating and giving their own ideas and opinions and I think that was one of the main points of the team challenge to make everyone collaborate together. I think the hardest thing for us to do was the spell out a word activity because it was really hard to come up with a word because every word we would think of required 5 or 7 people and we only had 6 people so after a long time of discussing we were finally able to come up with a word that involved all 6 members of the group. I think the easiest thing for us was to take an ugly picture everybody made a great ugly face and it was perfect.
